His Highness the Governor of Al Madinah chairs the third meeting of the MDA's Board

"His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al Madinah, and Chairman of the MDA, reviewed the features of the study of the Al `Uyun Oasis rehabilitation project, which is being implemented by the Al Madinah's Municipality in partnership with the MDA and other government entities, with the participation of the Private Sector. Al `Uyun Oasis is distinguished by its strategic location north of Al Madinahziz, Governor of Al Madinah, and Chairman of the MDA, reviewed the features of the study of the Al `Uyun Oasis rehabilitation project, which is being implemented by the Al Madinah's Municipality in partnership with the MDA and other government entities, with the participation of the Private Sector. Al `Uyun Oasis is distinguished by its strategic location north of Al Madinah, and the project aims to prepare an urban plan that makes Oasis an outlet for residents and visitors of Al Madinah, and preserves the areas associated with history and heritage, by working on developing them in line with the agricultural nature and the requirements of economic and environmental investment of Al Madinah. This came during His Highness's chairmanship of the third meeting of the MDA's Board for the current year 1442 AH - via virtual call - in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Khalid Al Faisal, Deputy Governor of the Al Madinah and Vice-Chairman of the MDA, and His Excellency the Advisor at the Royal Court and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Authority, Eng. Ibrahim bin Muhammad Al-Sultan, and His Excellency CEO of the MDA, Eng. Fahd bin Mohammed Al-Blehshi. The project aims to achieve environmental balance by boosting the environmental value of the Oasis, supporting its agricultural experience, maximizing the economic return of the lands covered by the development and rehabilitation plan, and working to link development and urban fabric with the public road network of Al Madinah. His Highness and the members of the MDA Board were briefed on all the activities that are authorized to be practiced within the scope of the Oasis, which include tourist resorts, palm plantations, medical and hospital tourism projects, recreational centers and shopping malls, and private development units, while the urban plan of the project will prevent the practice of activities that are not commensurate with the agricultural nature of the region, such as workshops and warehouses, which will be moved to suitable alternative locations. Licenses for residential plans within the scope of the project will also be suspended, and permission to build new fuel stations in the target development area will also be suspended. The Al `Uyun Oasis project contributes to improving the hypothetical distribution of the proposed buildings in light of the implementation of the new construction requirements within the scope of the project, and revitalizing about 4 million square meters of the agricultural land in the project. The development plan also includes developing main corridors for public roads and improving valley corridors, creating panoramic routes with a length of 17.6 km, including lanes for cars and bikes, and paths for pedestrians, seating areas, yards, event areas, places for displaying agricultural products, outlets for selling products and craft items, as well as green areas within the scope of the project with a depth of 6 meters within the agricultural land, locating buildings for recreational activities, public parks and approved residential plans, improving the network of public services provided to residents and visitors of the Oasis, upgrading the rainwater drainage network and improving infrastructure services in a way that contributes to raising the level of quality of life in the region. During the meeting, the Board discussed the topics on its agenda, which included the vision and strategic direction project for the Al Madinah, aiming to introduce it to tourists. It also reviewed the overall economic activities, and plans to develop the KPIs for strategic initiatives. At the end of the meeting, the Board approved the MDA's annual report for the current fiscal year.”
